Quotable Monday: Welcoming Autumn

Boston Common in early Autumn

Autumn has always been my favorite season.  It is, hands down, the most beautiful season n New England.  So, while I absolutely abhor winter and all of the snowy, icy days that are soon to come, I can’t help but become very excited every year once we hit September.  Pumpkins come out, leaves change color, the air feels crisp and clean….  I can’t think of anything more wonderful.

So, I may be jumping the gun here (it’s been in the 80s all weekend), but I wanted today’s quote to capture the beauty of Autumn and to help get me further jazzed up about its arrival.

It was, as I have said, a fine autumnal day; the sky was clear and serene, and nature wore that rich and golden livery which we always associate with the idea of abundance. The forests had put on their sober brown and yellow, while some trees of the tenderer kind had been nipped by the frosts into brilliant dyes of orange, purple, and scarlet.

  1. I agree with you about fall. I have to admit it is more of the sports and school thing. But the colors the weather and just the vibe is so good.
